2011 Sauvignon Blanc (Napa Valley)

The Damian Rae 2011 Sauvignon Blanc is a terrific powerhouse of flavors, with phenomenal pear, grapefruit, and key lime essences. Smooth, juicy and persistent with a long, luscious finish. Perfect with cheese tortellini, fusilli carbonara, seared ahi tuna, fried goat cheese, and coconut curry chicken – or simply with fine cheese and crackers.

Price: $24.00

Vineyard: Galleron Road (Rutherford). As in Bordeaux, Sauvignon Blanc tends to do extremely well where Cabernet grows. And Rutherford produces some mighty fine Cabernet. Crisp citrus, grapefruit and lemon-lime combined with minerality and a hint of herbalness make this Sauvignon Blanc a fantastic wine.

Harvest and aging: the grapes were picked and processed on September 22, 2011. The wine was aged in stainless steel and bottled on March 21, 2012.
