Welcome!
“It is
without doubt the vintage of the decade: California’s 2007 Pinot Noirs are
beautiful and balanced.” --- Wine
Enthusiast, March 2010
When it comes to Pinot Noirs, people tend to get excited, and
rightly so. And there’s a lot to get
enthusiastic about with the Damian Rae 2007 Pinot Noir from La Encantada
Vineyard. Located on the cooler side of Santa Rita Hills, La Encantada Vineyard
is a certified organic site planted in 2001 by Richard Sanford — the
"godfather" of Santa Ynez pinot. The vineyard is on a ridge which
straddles the Santa Ynez River Valley and is open to the full impact of the
cooling afternoon maritime breezes. Yields are just two tons per acre, but the
resulting wine is sublime: smooth, with hints of dark cherry, earth, and spice.
Tastings.com rates the Damian Rae
2007 Pinot Noir as “Highly Recommended, praising its “bright garnet hue and
rich full-bodied palate.” The Pinot
Report gives it a 90-point score and calls it a “Smart Buy.” Only 50 cases made – order some today on our Wine Shop page!
Thanks for your continuing support, and remember, whether you want a premium wine for that special romantic occasion, or to celebrate a new account, or simply to pair with tonight's main course, the ideal choice is a bottle from Damian Rae Winery -perfect for any occasion.
